The day will start with a journey up Interstate 80 over Donner Pass to the Donner Memorial State Park, where we will stroll through the exhibits of the Emigrant Trail Museum, see the Pioneer Monument and take a shoreline stroll along the shore of Donner Lake.  The short five minute drive into downtown Truckee brings many options for lunch and site seeing.  While there visit the Truckee Railroad Museum or shop the many unique and eclectic shops on Truckee's Main Street.  In the afternoon catch the Olympic Spirit at Palisades Tahoe, site of the 1960 Winter Olympic games, visit the Olympic Museum and meander through Olympic Village before climbing aboard the van for the trip back over the mountain.

Please bring a lunch or Money for food, there are a lot of great options around Truckee.
