Trip Explanation: A century ago, what is now the Tallac Historic Site held the “Grandest Resort
World” and the summer retreats for three of San Francisco Bay Area’s social elite. Today, the remains of the resort and restored estates (Baldwin and Pope) attract thousands to its beautiful wooded shoreline. Trip advisor ranks this #4 out of 59 things to do in Tahoe. We will picnic on the grounds. Then we join our
tour guide at the Pope Estate to hear about the estate , the characters who lived here, the architectures, and its rich history. There will be time to explore on your own, wade in the lake, or just sit and enjoy the peace and beauty.
