Summer Camp

Camp Have-a-Lot-of-Fun

DATE: June 16 - August 8
TIME: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
FEE: $46.00 per Weekly Session
LOCATION: Mission North Park, 3344 Mission Ave., Carmichael

At camp, children will enjoy playing games, creating art projects, singing songs, hiking, and exploring along the creek. They will spend time with their friends and make new ones, and have-a-lot-of-fun. Activities focus on weekly themes, with special activities scheduled on Fridays to celebrate the end of each session. Each day, children are to bring a lunch which does not require refrigeration.

The camp is divided into two age groups:


AGES 3-5 YEARS                               CHALOF Camp Registration Form, 3-5 year olds
This group is for boys and girls who have not yet been to kindergarten. All campers must be toilet trained.

Grades K-4                                          CHALOF Camp Registration Form, grades K-4
This group is for children who have completed grades kindergarden through fourth.

Camp Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Camp Fee: $46.00

Camp Have-A-Lot-Of-Fun Junior Leader Program

Camp Have-A-Lot-Of-Fun Junior Leaders are needed Monday through Friday, 8am-12:30pm. In addition, they will need to attend a weekly team meeting on Mondays from 1:30pm-3:30pm and a Junior Leader meeting on Tuesdays from 12:30p.m. - 1:30p.m.

This program is for children ages 12-17 years old. For more information, call Rich Jennings at 488-7276 at ext. 3008. Deadline to register is April 25, 2008.

 

 

 

Camp Swanston   

DATE: June 9-August 1                

LOCATION: Swanston Park, 2350 Northrop Ave., Sacramento       

TIME: 1:00-5:00pm

Swanston Park will offer its first ever day camp this summer. Trained recreation leaders will provide kids, aged 6-11 with a summer they won't forget. The safe and fun day camp will include arts and crafts, games, sports activities, music, drama, themed weekly special events and much more. Lunch is also provided for campers daily. Kids in this camp can also access our brand new Spray Park during the hot days of summer. Register now and recieve one FREE trial week of camp!

Registration:

  • Registration for Camp Swanston will begin May 1. You must register for the first week of camp no later than Thursday, June 5 by 12:00pm. For the weeks following, registration is due by 12:00pm the Thursday before camp.
  • Online at www.morpd.com, faxed, mailed, or in person at the District Office located at 3344 Mission Avenue, Carmichael. Forms may be faxed to 488-4349, credit card and expiration date must accompany fax. Payment must accompany mail registration forms. Cash, check, or money order or Visa will be accepted.   • Walk-in registration is will be open, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Swanston Community Center or the District Office.
  • Parent Participant Handbooks will be available the first day of the program at sites and the District Office.

Camp Kids 2008

DATE: June 9th - August 1st, 2008 (Monday through Friday)
TIME: 8:00am - 12:30pm, and/or 12:30pm - 5:00pm

LOCATION: Ashton, Choices Charter, and Gibbons Parks

This outdoor summer camp is for boys and girls ages 6-11. The program includes day trips, special events, arts and crafts, sports, table games, a family carnival, and barbeque. Flyers with specific trip and special information will be available in the district office in late May.

Looking for a fun, well organized afternoon program for your child following the Morning Camp Kids Program or summer school? Then this afternoon recreation program is for you! Your child does not need to be in the morning program to be eligible to participate. The program will offer arts and crafts, music, drama activities, sports, table games, water games, and much more. The program is available at three locations; Gibbons Park, Ashton Park, and Choices Charter (formerly Billy Mitchell Elementary School).

Trips:
Fees are payable at the time of registration. Trip announcements will be distributed each week during the program.

Staff:
A minimum of three recreation leaders and two junior leaders will be assigned to each site. Additional leaders will be assigned to larger sites as needed.

Lunch:
All participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch that does not require refrigeration. A lunch break will be provided each day around noon.

Bicycles/Skateboards:
Be sure to lock bikes. Participants are solely responsible for their bicycles, skateboards, or other equipment.

Choices Charter is an indoor/outdoor site. The other sites are outdoor sites. The afternoons can get very warm. Please plan and dress accordingly.

Passport To Excellence

It's like no other summer program!  Each class is taught by a qualified adult that has a teaching credential or prior teaching experience.  Each class has been designed to educate through FUN and EXCITING activities that may include Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Critical Thinking , Art, and Physical Education.  Come and join us for our second year.  You won't want to miss it!

All Kinds of Art 1

Are you ready to make your own bean bag pillows, paper mache snakes, and tie dye?  If so, then you won't want to miss this one of a kind art class.

Under the Sea

Sharks, Dolphins, and other mysterious water creatures await you!  Learn about incredible sea life while doing some amazing crafts!  You'll enjoy making your own edible aquarium and beach bucket game.

Games Galore

Get ready to play some parachute games, pin ball soccer, and some extreme water kickball in this fun, movin' class.

Pirate's Life 1A

If yar lookin' for some great pirate adventure, then this is the right class for you!  You will come up with your own pirate disguise, go on a treasure hunt, and create and decorate your very own pirate treasure box!

Ages 9 - 13 yrs.

Magic 101

You'll learn a bunch of new magic tricks to show your friends.  Learn how to do rope tricks, vanishing ball tricks, and even how to do an amazing escape trick.  Sign up for this class and you'll also be able to help put on a magic show for your friends and family!

All Kinds of Art 2

Learn how to make a Philippine Parol (Simply Awesome!), face paint, and create your own wooden gadget box in this creative art class!

Uck, Muck, and Guck

This class is chalk full of "hands on" experiments.  You'll enjoy making some slime, ooze, and even your own homemade ice cream!  You won't want to miss out on all of the fun!

Beginning Rugby

This is a great chance to get out there and learn some beginning rugby skills.  You'll have a great time learning about and playing this sport.  Class is taught by a qualified Rugby Coach.

Reader's Theater

New scripts mean more fun!  We had a great time last year putting on a show for our parents.  Don't miss out on mroe fun and some new scripts this year!
