Upcoming Meetings on the Consolidation Feasibility Study for Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District and the Carmichael Recreation & Park District
Dear Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District Resident,
Consolidation of the Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District (MORPD) and the Carmichael Recreation & Park District (CRPD) into a single recreation and park district to achieve greater efficiencies as well as provide enhanced recreational programs through cost savings is being considered by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors. In order to make a more informative decision regarding moving forward with the proposed district consolidation, Supervisor Susan Peters, District 3, and the MORPD and CRPD Advisory Boards are seeking public input on the proposed consolidation.
The MORPD Advisory Board has heard testimony at their last two meetings which were held on June 14 and July 12.
A Special Joint Board meeting of both MORPD and CRPD Advisory Boards will be held on Monday, August 1 at 6:30pm at the Mission Oaks Community Center located at 4701 Gibbons Drive in Carmichael. The purpose of the meeting is to receive public comment from residents of both districts. Following the August 1 meeting, the two Advisory Boards will meet independently at future public meetings consider this matter, and each will make a recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors.
The MORPD Advisory Board will meet again on Tuesday, August 9 at 6:30pm at the Mission Oaks Community Center. Public comment will again be welcome. At this meeting the Advisory Board is expected to make their recommendation to the County.
Both Supervisor Susan Peters and the MORPD Advisory Board of Directors want to make sure that this proposal has the opportunity for community input. If you are unable to attend the public meetings but would like to have your comments included in the public record, please send a letter or email to Debra Tierney, Clerk of the Board, at email@example.com. The comments will be considered by the Advisory Board of Directors prior to their recommendation on the proposed consolidation.
We thank you for your consideration in this important matter. We encourage all interested parties to review the consolidation feasibility study and participate in the public process. To view the study, Click Here.
