nature-trail-ribbon-cuttingNew Nature Trail at Mission North Park –

The grand opening of the Chicken Ranch Slough Nature Trail at Mission North Park took place on February 11.  About 70 people were on hand for the event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a group hike around the 1/3 mile trail.

This new paved trail has numerous benefits:  A safe route to school for those attending Churchill Middle School; An accessible means to enjoy better views of the creek and other park features;  An improved path for exercise through walking, jogging, and bicycling.  The trail includes several new benches and interpretive/educational signs.  California State Parks sees the value and importance of this nature trail, and we thank them for their matching grant that covered half of the cost for this project.

For questions or comments, please call the District Office at 488-2810.

Mission North Park is located at 3344 Mission Ave. in Carmichael.
